I was just checking out Rob Neyer’s top 100 players of “the 0’s” and I stumbled upon an awesome Yankees trivia question. By the way, Neyer ranks Alex Rodriguez second (behind Pujols) and Derek Jeter fourth (behind Bonds).
So here it is: What two pitchers of the 0’s struck out over 2,000 batters?
Hint: Both pitched for the Yankees at some point in the decade.
I’ll reveal the answer in this post at 1 p.m. tomorrow, sharp. Post your answers in the comments. The answer can be found in the details of Neyer’s post if you just can’t wait ‘til tomorrow.
And no, Roger Clemens did not strike out 2,000 in the 0’s.
This article is also featured on lenNY’s Yankees.

I sware I didn't look but the answer seems easy to me.
Randy Johnson (he had to have)
and
Javier Vazquez (strikeout machine no matter where/how badly he pitched)
I could be wrong obviously but thats the two obvious ones to me because it can't be Mussina, Sabathia, Pettite, Clemens, etc

I just went on each player's B-R page and yes, it's those two. Vasquez JUST made it w/2001.
2001? I'm lucky! I thought Vazquez would have more actually

Well done, Brandon!
Lol, it's ridiculous how good Randy Johnson was at his peak. Incredible.
I think I saw he had four straight years of 300+ strikeouts. When's the last time somebody did that?? Insane.
I swear I didn't cheat and I guessed Johnson and Vazquez too. Funny how one was traded for the other.
