2010 Yankees: Milestones

This season when the Yankees win their 43rd game it will be the 9,500th in the history of the Highlanders/Yankees Franchise. This caused me to think “what milestones are the individual players on pace to reach this year?” The results are as follows.

  1. Jorge Posada:
    -12 hits away from 1,500
    -36 RBIs away from 1,000
  2. Mark Teixeira:
    -34 HRs away from 300
    -102 RBI away from 900
  3. Robinson Cano:
    -1 double away from 200
    -13 HRs away from 100
  4. Derek Jeter:
-191 plate appearences away from 10,000
  5. Alex Rodriguez:
-389 plate appearences away from 10,000
    -17 HRs away from 600
    -3 SBs away from 300
  6. Brett Gardner:
-4 hits away from 100 (that’s something right?)
  7. Curtis Granderson:
    -1 RBI away from 300
  8. Nick Swisher:
    -63 runs away from 500
  9. Andy Pettitte:
-Would have to stay healthy all year, but 32 appearences away from 500
    -73.2 IP away from 3000
  10. A.J. Burnett:
    -27 SO away from 1,500
  11. CC Sabathia:
    -12 starts away from 300
    -110.2 IP away from 2,000
    -10 SO away from 1,600
  12. Javier Vazquez:
    -15 starts away from 400
    -10 IP away from 2,500
  13. Mariano Rivera:
    -24 Svs away from 550

Milestones are always fun to follow and countdown, and this season Yankee fans have a lot of them to look foward to. All hopefully resulting in the biggest milestone of all Yankees Championship number 28.
