Nick Swisher Was on Doogie Howser M.D. Last Night

Well, he wasn’t actually on Doogie Howser M.D., that show ended in 1993, he was on How I Met Your Mother which despite the fact that I wouldn’t even watch the show when one of the Yankees, Nick Swisher, was on it seems like a good show.

I like Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan is hot, and according to Wikipedia Bob Saget, who is hilarious, is the narrator. Seems like it has a little potential. Also with 102 episodes vs. Doogie Howser’s 97 it is also a more successful show. I just don’t watch CBS.

Sam Alipour of ESPN had a positive review of the show:

Nick Swisher just gave us another reason to dislike the New York Yankees.

They’ll snake your girl.

That’s exactly what the Yanks outfielder will do — unwittingly, anyway — Monday night on “How I Met Your Mother.” In the episode airing on CBS, Barney’s (Neil Patrick Harris) pursuit of “the perfect week” — seven girls in seven days — is disrupted when Swisher, playing himself at a New York City bar, catches the eye of Barney’s latest prey.

Ok, that was more like a plot to the show than a positive review, but he did use “Swisher Shines” in the article’s headline.

So being that I didn’t watch the show, did any of you happen to catch it? How was it?

It's a solid, consistently funny show and Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie) has created one of the better "characters" on TV today. Last night's episode also starred Jim Nantz (playing himself). Rob, you need to watch a bit of CBS – in spite of their rep as your grandma's network, they have a few shows that are worth watching, including Big Bang Theory. Now, they can't top "The League" on FX, but few can…

  2. Really my tv viewing is limited to sports, comedy central, and NBC on Thursday nights. I really just don’t watch CBS out of habit. I’ve heard quite a bit about this show, mostly because of NPH’s buzz. Too bad it’s not on Hulu.

Go check it out on TV.com (CBS’s version of Hulu) – they usually have the last 3 episodes up. And, as a sports fan, do yourself a favor and watch “The League” – it about a bunch of guys in a fantasy football league and is one of the funniest shows on TV. the first season just ended, but those episodes ARE on Hulu.
