Yankees 2010 28th Round Draft Pick: Josh Dezse

Name: Josh Dezse
Ht: 6′5″
Wt: 205
B/T: R/R
DOB: 6-18-92
School level: HS

In the 28th round the Yankees got a high school kid that is really exciting in Josh Dezse. He’s exciting because he’s 6’5″ and he throws a pair of fastballs both in the mid-90’s. Anytime you can draft a high schooler who throws 95 that’s a great thing in my book. He’s hired an adviser and has a commitment to Ohio State so he may be a bit hard to sign, but keep an eye on this one.

There really isn’t much about this kid probably because he’s a late round high schooler. Here is what MLB.com said though:

Dezse had committed to stay in the Buckeye State and play his college ball at Ohio State.

Here is what the Ohio baseball site had to say about him:

Josh is the recipient of several honors and awards including first team all-district and first team all conference. He helped lead Olentangy Liberty to the 2009 district finals. In addition, he has been an integral component of several summer national championships over the past 4 years.

He was also a pretty good hitter in high school. He sounds like a good athlete. Hopefully the Yankees manage to sign him.
