Your 1st Place New York Yankees

Phil Hughes was not at his best tonight, but he had the benefit of a nine run night by the Yankees offense that including three homers by Mark Teixeira, Nick Swisher, and Curtis Granderson as the Yankees beat the Oakland Athletics 9-3. Meanwhile, their division rivals the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox both lost giving the Yankees in sole possession of first place and a bigger lead in the Wild-Card.
