Update: Ken Rosenthal had an update and said that Jeter and his agent Casey Close actually met with the Yankees today. He didn’t have information on exactly who was there but figured at least Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman would be there.
No word yet on what went down during the meeting, but hopefully we’ll have some information by tomorrow so check back. This is the first time the two sides have met since before Thanksgiving.

Casey Close is meeting with Derek Jeter in Florida to mull things over. Yankees are awaiting further communication from Jeter.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports added that the biggest question that they are likely going to mull over is like to be whether or not he’ll be willing to accept offers from other teams. He’ll likely also discuss how far they are willing to come down from their demand of around $92-$96 million for at least four years.
The winter meetings start next Monday. There are rumblings that the Yankees will be aggressive to try to get something done that week, but they are currently at an impasse with Jeter. They have a three-year $45 million offer on the table. It is believed that they might be willing to offer him more money, but they will not budge on their three-year offer.
