Yankees Rumors: Harkey Will Get Serious Consideration for Pitching Coach

Via Sweeny Murti of WFAN:

Mike Harkey being given serious consideration as new pitching coach. Good relationships with Sabathia and Burnett among others.

It does sound like Harkey is the favorite. He’s been with manager Joe Girardi since his time with the Marlins and there are already rumors that Staten Island Yankees manager Josh Paul would replace him as the bullpen coach.

Minor league coach Scott Aldred and former Yankees minor league pitching coach Gil Patterson are the only confirmed people who are interviewing for the position.

Leo Mazzone has let it be known that he wants the job, but the Yankees interest doesn’t seem to be there.
