Melky Cabrera Signs 1-Year $1.25M Deal with Royals

Via Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes: source: Melky Cabrera agreed with Kansas City 1 year $1.25 millions, plus 250K incentives. Pending physical.

For some reason Melky is still really popular among Yankees fans. But he did have a terrible season in 2010 that led the Braves to cutting him at the end of the season. He hit just .255 with a .671 OPS with his defense slipping too last season.

He’s still just 26-years-old though, but if he doesn’t hit for the Royals in 2011 he may find himself out of baseball.
