Via Buster Olney of ESPN:
The Yankees have continued to be aggressive on C Russell Martin; would not be a surprise if we heard at any time of an agreement.
Here is what we know so far about Martin. He has turned down a one-year $4.2 million deal with another $1.1 million in possible incentives. He is currently weighing offers from the Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays. The Yankees intend on making him their starting catcher on a one-year deal. He would be arbitration eligible in 2012.
We’ve heard a lot about Martin over the last week or so. Based on the time this has taken and what Olney said in his tweet, it seems like a decision should come soon.
