Yankees Cut Betances, Banuelos Pitching Tonight

New York Yankees Dellin BetancesLast week the Yankees cut the first of the Killer B’s, Andrew Brackman, and on Saturday they cut another, Dellin Betances. That leaves Manuel Banuelos as the lone B left in camp.

Banuelos is expected to pitch in relief tonight and will likely get cut shortly after that, possibly immediately after the game or shortly after that. Last week Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Betances and Banuelos had no shot at making the team, but wanted to watch each of them pitch one more time before sending them down.

Brackman is a near lock to start the season in Triple-A Scranton and will eventually have a chance to make it to the Bronx at some point this season either out of the rotation or possibly out of the bullpen. Banuelos and Betances will start the year in Double-A Trenton and would likely have to put together an amazing season to make it to the Bronx as they have so many other prospects ahead of them at this point. If either of them did make it to the Bronx, it would likely have to be out of the bullpen late in the year.
