Yankees Recall Hector Noesi from the Minors

New York Yankees Hector NoesiIn order to replace Luis Ayala, who went down with a strained lat, the Yankees have recalled RHP Hector Noesi from the minors and he will report to the bullpen, according to Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes.

The Yankees didn’t exactly have a lot of options to replace Ayala because of different circumstances so Noesi, normally a starter, got the call. The other options included Steve Garrison or Andrew Brackman, both pitched last night, and Jose Ortegano or Ryan Pope, but both are on the DL.

The Yankees could have recalled Andy Sisco or somebody else, but because they are not on the 40-man roster it would have required a roster change. Mark Prior was not an option as the Yankees are taking it slowly with the oft-injured pitcher.
