Jorge Posada Apologized, Not in Tonight’s Lineup

“I just talked to Girardi, and I kind of apologized to him,” Jorge Posada said to reporters before tonight’s game. “Just had a bad day. Had a bad day yesterday. Reflecting on it and stuff, everything, all the frustration just came out.”

Posada also spoke with Derek Jeter and other teammates to apologize as well and he plans on speaking with Brian Cashman.

He is not in the lineup again tonight as the Yankees are set to take on left handed pitcher Jon Lester. Posada has been particularly bad against lefties this season going 0-for-24 so far.

For as bad as things could have been yesterday, Posada is saying the right things so far today. This doesn’t solve the situation. The best way things could be settled is either by Posada getting hot at the plate or the Yankees making a roster change. Perhaps they could call up Jesus Montero or Jorge Vazquez.
