When looking at today’s lineup there was one big surprise, Jorge Posada is the starting first baseman and Mark Teixeira has moved over to DH for a half day off.
Posada has some experience at first base, but hasn’t played there since 2008 and has always expressed a distaste for the position. Posada started taking infield practice when Eric Chavez went on the DL as he became the default backup.
REST OF THE LINEUP:
- Derek Jeter SS
- Curtis Granderson CF
- Mark Teixeira DH
- Alex Rodriguez 3B
- Robinson Cano 2B
- Russell Martin C
- Jorge Posada 1B
- Nick Swisher RF
- Brett Gardner LF
OTHER NOTES: CT Scans came back clean for Chris Dickerson. He had only a mild concussion and isn’t expected to go on the DL. He won’t be playing tonight though.
Hector Noesi was also a candidate to be sent down today as the Yankees bullpen has been over used and after his four inning performance last night he will be unavailable for a few days. However, the Yankees choose not to send him down. No roster changes from yesterday.
