If some players on the Yankees are overrated it’s probably because they are so popular in the first place. That popularity does have its benefits though as six Yankee starters are the current leaders in the All-Star game voting.
Russell Martin, Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, and Curtis Granderson would all be starters in the Summer Classic if voting ended today. Of course, the voting doesn’t end today and it is hard to see all of these players at the top of the voting when it ends. As a Yankee fan, it would be cool to see that though.
Considering CC Sabathia and Mariano Rivera are likely to join whomever gets voted in, there could potentially be eight Yankees there this July.
