Yankees Get Colon Back Before Subway Series

After the Yankees continued to embarrass the National League tonight, manager Joe Girardi announced the Bartolo Colon will be starting on Saturday against the Mets.

Colon went on the DL a little over two weeks ago for a strained left hamstring making this a fairly quick recovery. The Yankees apparently put him through a series of drills in order to test to see if he’s ready for this and it appears that he passed those tests. So we can assume that he is 100 percent.

Usually it takes longer for pitchers to recover with these type of injuries as a pitcher’s legs are extremely important in providing power. Colon must still be receiving his controversial stem cell treatment (Just kidding). If he is 100 percent, that’s clearly great for the Yankees as he was one of their top pitchers this season and they are on a roll lately.

Brian Gordon will undoubtedly lose his rotation spot to Colon. Whether or not he goes to the bullpen, the minors, or is designated for assignment is still to be seen.
