Ivan Nova or Adam Warren to Start for Yankees Saturday

The Yankees have a double-header coming up against the Orioles this Saturday so instead of burning out their rotation they have decided to call a pitcher up from the minor leagues.

The most obvious choice is Ivan Nova, although he is on the 7-day DL with an ankle problem.  He pitched a simulated game yesterday and everything seemed to go well so expect him to get the call (link). If for some reason he is unable to go though the plan is to call Adam Warren up from the minors and use him instead, according to Joel Sherman of the NY Post.

Either way it seems like a good decision. Warren is ready for the big leagues. He has tossed 114.1 innings at Triple-A to a 3.15 ERA. His K/9 is down to a career low 6.0 and his BB/9 rate is up to a career high 3.3, but the results have been there besides those numbers and working him into the the major league roster makes sense (although I doubt he would stick permanently in his first try). The problem holding Warren back is the 40-man roster, which is going to get a little tricky as the Yankees activate both Eric Chavez and Rafael Soriano off the 60-day DL.
