Soriano & Chavez Make it Through 1st Rehab Game

The Yankees had some serious star power on hand with their High-A affiliate yesterday as Rafael Soriano and Eric Chavez began their rehab down in Tampa yesterday.

Both players made it through the game without incident. Soriano got roughed up a bit, he went 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on a home run, two hits, no walks, and a strikeout. Chavez DH’d and went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Chavez is going to DH all this week while taking infield practice before games. Soriano will likely pitch again on Thursday or Friday and the Yankees will like to see him in back-to-back games before they recall him. Soriano should be the first one called up, but both of them, barring any setbacks, should be back in the Bronx in the next week or two.
