Yankees Expect Chavez and Soriano Back This Week

When speaking with reporters this week, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that he expects Eric Chavez and Rafael Soriano to return this week, according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York. Cashman said he expects Chavez to return on Tuesday and Soriano either Wednesday or Thursday.

Chavez has done very well during his rehab and has even been playing in the field and has no foot pain. Soriano is not fairing nearly as well. He would not speak with reporters on Sunday after getting knocked around yet again. He is scheduled to pitch again on Monday and will be activated after that.

I hate to say it, because I generally disagree with his moves, but this time, Cashman was exactly on the money with regard to Soriano! Aside from his bad elbow, the guy is an absolute loser!
