A-Rod Expected Back in Lineup Friday

Alex Rodriguez has been bothered by a thumb injury pretty much since the moment he came off the DL for knee surgery, but manager Joe Girardi thinks he’ll be back in the lineup this friday, according to George King of the NY Post.

A-Rod initially injured his thumb diving for a ball on August 21 in Minnesota, but made it worse a few days later in Baltimore. Then he made things worse last week in California and has not been in the lineup again since.

Since coming off the DL he has hit just .194 with a .758 OPS in 10 games.

Well let's look on the bright side. After this season, there's only 6 seasons and $143 million + $30 million remaining on his contract. Those Yanks are really shrewd.

I bet he'll end up in the record books for the highest paid vacations in the world. Maybe that thumb would heal up if he stop playing cards so much….. dealer's thumb I think it's called…
