Cano’s Foot is OK, Expects to Play on Friday

In the 12th inning of the Yankees 2-1 loss to the Mariners last night, Robinson Cano took a 95 mph fastball off his foot last night and didn’t exactly look good as he hobbled down to first base afterward. He stayed in the game, but went immediately for x-rays afterward. Fortunately those came back negative and Cano said he expects to play again on Friday, according to Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York.

If only Jesus Montero didn’t strike out with Cano in scoring position in the top of the 9th inning, this might not have happened. But luckily the Yankees have an off-day today so Cano should be OK and won’t miss much time if any.

  1. Mike Sommer says:

I'd give him Friday off, just as a precaution, especially on astroturf.
