Hector Noesi Starting Today for Yankees

Phil Hughes is still dealing with pain from back spasms so he is scratched from his start for the second time this week. Instead Hector Noesi will start for the Yankees, but he will be limited to just 50-60 pitches because it has been quite some time since he last went longer than three innings, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

It’ll be good to see Noesi getting a start, even if it is a shortened one. I’ve been saying for weeks now that the Yankees should have pulled both Hughes and A.J. Burnett from the rotation and use Noesi or even Adam Warren instead.

The Yankees have relied too heavily on Bartolo Colon and Freddy Garcia. Instead of feeling lucky for what they got out of them they have pushed the envelope and have failed to break in any rookie starters except for Ivan Nova. It certainly could be something that comes back to bite them in the ass come playoff time.
