Rain in the Bronx

Game one of the American League Division Series was suspended in the middle of the second inning with the Yankees and Tigers tied at 1-1 thanks to the rain Friday night.

It will resume on Saturday at 8:37 p.m. Only fans who had tickets for game one can use them to get in on Saturday. Fans with tickets to game two must now attend Sunday’s game expected to start at 3:07 p.m.

Ivan Nova and Doug Fister will pitch when the game resumes Saturday night and Freddy Garcia will pitch against Max Scherzer on Sunday. Yankees manager Joe Girardi didn’t say what he planned after that.

One Response to Rain in the Bronx

  1. Mike Sommer says:

What it probably means is that A.J. now gets a start. Nova is still set up to go in Game 5 on regular rest (Wed. is an off-day). But now when would A.J. start? "Sacrificial lamb" vs. Verlander in Game 3 (unless Yanks are down 0-2) or in Game 4? CC would get the other game. I guess Girardi is now deciding how to use CC/AJ in Games 3 and 4. Damned rain. Of course tonight's resumption is in jeopardy. There's still rain in the forecast (of course…figures).
