Two Yankees Front Office Guys to Interview for the Angels GM Job

Along with the Yankees scouting director Damon Oppenheimer, the Angels are also interviewing their senior director of pro personnel Billy Eppler for their vacant general manager position as well, according to Mark Feinsand of the NY Daily News.

The 36-year-old Eppler has been Yankees general manager Brian Cashman’s right hand man since the end of the 2009 season. Before that he was director of pro scouting.

Eppler, along with Oppenheimer, has been given a lot of the credit for turning the Yankees farm system around. So it would appear the Angels are interested in building through the farm system.

The Yankees appear to have given both permission to speak with the Angels. Speaking selfishly as a Yankees fan, I hope that neither gets the job as they both have done a great job in their time here and it would be a shame to lose either of them.

On the plus side, it could help the Yankees relations with the Angels.
