Rumor: Cespedes not available until January w/Video 1

Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes became an overnight sensation when his agent published a whacky video of his life and training regiment. Well, there is another one, but before we get to that there is a bit of news first.

Apparently there wass a mix-up with Cespedes gaining residency in the Dominican Republic, a necessary step before he is granted free agency, and it will take until at least January to get it sorted out, according to Kevin Golstein of Baseball Prospectus.

This hasn’t killed any of the interest in him though. In the latest video there are over 200 scouts on hand to watch him including Tony Pena and at least one other Yankees scout. Take a look at his latest, and slightly more serious video:

Looks like he is the real deal. Good idea for the Yankees to sign him before the new CBA alters the details on signing International Free Agents. This will put a little pressure on Swisher to perform or he could end up in a trade for pitching.
