Rumor: Hiroki Kuroda nearing deal with mystery team

Former Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda is close to signing a contract with an unnamed team that is not expected to be the Yankees, according to Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports.

Rumor is that Kuroda is looking for a $12-$13 million deal this offseason and he was open to a deal with the Yankees. However, Brown said that when he contacted the Yankees to see if they were the team that was supposedly close to landing Kuroda they told him, “not us.”

The Yankees like Kuroda and tried to acquire him twice in the past year before this offseason, but his price tag of $13 million seems to have scarred them off.

With Kuroda seemingly off the board there are still nine starters the Yankees can target this offseason.

  1. Joe says:

Go with the young guys!!!! why do the Yankees wait so long to bring up the young talent? Other teams don't and most are quite successful.
