Yankees have had no talks with Mark Prior

A year ago it seemed like a decent idea to sign Mark Prior. The Yankees pitching rotation was a big question mark and even though he hadn’t been able to stay healthy in a few years, Prior had good potential to contribute if he ever could maintain his health. So they signed him to a minor league deal and what do you know, he couldn’t stay healthy.

With the same question marks this offseason, the Yankees are not interested in bringing Prior back again, according to Chad Jennings of the Journal News. Can’t say I blame the Yankees, Prior didn’t even come close to contributing at all in 2011 and every time he started to build momentum, he got hurt again. He’s trying to stick around to make it back to the majors, but at this point it would probably be best if he just retired.
