Yankees Trade Rumor: Nationals Want Brett Gardner

It wasn’t the first time they have expressed interest in the Yankees outfielder, but the Nationals once again asked about outfielder Brett Gardner, whom they view as a perfect leadoff/center field candidate. However, according to MASN, the Yankees have once again turned them down.

The Yankees like Gardner and while they would presumably listen to offers for him it isn’t likely that they are going to deal him. Maybe if the Nationals were willing to discuss Stephen Strasburg or Jordan Zimmermann the two sides could put something together, but that isn’t happening. Other than those two guys, the Nationals just don’t have the pitchers the Yankees are interested in.
