As if 5:00 p.m. ET today, the posting period is over for Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish. Now his team has four days to decide whether or not they want to accept the highest bid (an announcement could come as soon as tonight or tomorrow morning though, according to Adam Kilgore).
The Yankees were expected to place a bid, although if you believe Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi, it will not be a significant bid. However, with the way the bidding process works it is in the Yankees interest for people to think they will not throw serious money at Darvish.
The other two teams expected to be serious bidders are the Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays. The Red Sox apparently did not put in a bid, according to Nick Cafardo.

Yeah I did rob thats why I corrected it and said I mustve been high.
I know did you see that I corrected it?
I have a feeling they were bluffing and have put up a signifigant post. Just me though.
Buster Olney just tweeted that the Yankees did NOT post for Darvish. His “sources” said.
Should probably go back and read that again. Olney said they DID place a bid.
I must be high they did post according to Olney.
I really hope we can get Darvish.
The only way to bring the salary down for 2014 and have a VERY GOOD team is getting him and one of soler or cespedes,
