Now that Cuban lefty Gerardo Concepcion is a free agent he has attracted plenty of interest as at least 10 teams including the Yankees have expressed interest in the pitcher, according to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.
Concepcion became a free agent last week and apparently he already has at least one offer on the table and his agent told Sanchez that he expects to sign a contract within the next two weeks.
The Yankees held a workout for the 18-year-old last Thursday as the Rangers recently did as well. With so many teams listed as interested it is hard to tell exactly which are the most likely to sign him, but the Yankees were listed among the most interested, whatever that means. If he really does expect to sign within the next two weeks a clear picture should develop soon.
