Luis Ayala signs with the Orioles

The Yankees have officially lost one of the biggest surprises in last year’s bullpen when the Orioles signed Luis Ayala to a one-year $925K deal, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun.

It’s hard to imagine Ayala replicating his 2.09 ERA from last season, but the Yankees bullpen is full anyway and there was no room for him. Hopefully the fact that he’s signed with a division rival won’t come back to hurt the Bombers.
