Craig Tatum clears waivers, outrighted to Triple-A

The Yankees have announced that the catcher that they claimed off of waivers the other day, Craig Tatum, has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A.

This was necessary because Tatum was out of minor league options, the reason the Yankees were able to claim him in the first place. Tatum, a 30-year-old who has played in 100 games in the major leagues over parts of three seasons with the Reds and Orioles, was picked up to catch at the Triple-A level while Austin Romine recovers from a lingering back injury. He has a career .291 OBP and a .554 OPS.
