Pineda will try out his changeup today

The Yankees are taking on the Phillies again in their third spring training game this year and Michael Pineda will be taking the mound.

The game will be on the MLB Network and I will definitely be watching as Pineda, who is primarily a fastball/slider guy, will be trying out his changeup that he has been working on.

I’m not the only one looking forward to seeing the pitches’ progress, Joe Girardi is too.

“It’s always better to look at a guy that’s got a power arm like that when he’s on your side,” Girardi told the NY Daily News. “I’m anxious to see him throw a couple changeups, see if it works.”

If you can’t catch the game you can follow me on Twitter @RobAbruzzese and I will have live game updates. Heck, even if you watch the game you can follow me and we can chat about the upcoming season.
