Reminder: BBD is looking for new writers

Just wanted to remind people that we are taking applications for new writers here at BBD.

It’s not a paying gig, but if you love the baseball and know how to write, it can be fun and rewarding. It’s also a good way to get started with an ESPN affiliated blog if you are an aspiring writer.

Contributors need to at least have some college education and be willing to write at least one column per week on a consistent basis. Past blogging experience is preferred, but certainly not necessary. General Yankees articles are fine, but specialized articles in statistical analysis, PitchFX data, or minor league baseball are preferred.

If you are interested, please email a cover letter, two writing samples, and any links to work you have published on the internet to rob (at) If you have a area of expertise, please include that in the email. If you don’t have any clips, but would like to apply anyway please write up one piece of original writing for consideration.

The deadline for submissions is March 12.
