Some positive injury news: Swisher, Granderson, D-Rob

Thought I might share some good news as we wallow in the fact that a pair of 23-year-old pitchers are having MRI’s on Saturday that could show serious damage.

Curtis Granderson, Nick Swisher, and David Robertson all expect to be on the Opening Day Roster.

Swisher, recovering from a sore groin, played five innings in a minor league game on Friday and declared that he would be ready be Opening Day and told Bryan Hoch of that he was “almost ready to take the chains off.”

Granderson missed some time with a sore elbow. The Yankees sent him for MRI’s which came back negative. He has already returned to action playing in back-to-back days, Thursday and Friday. As for D-Rob, he pitched in the minor league camp on Friday and threw mostly fastballs as he continues to build arm strength. Everyone expects him to be ready by Opening Day.

Some minor league injury news: Infielder Corban Joseph is out with a shoulder injury, as is catcher Kyle Higashioka. Jeremy Bleich, out two years with a shoulder injury, is throwing and expects to face live batters soon (all that was Jennings).
