X-rays come back negative after Cano hit by pitch

Robinson Cano was hit on the left hand by a pitch on Sunday and left the game in a lot of pain. He was sent for x-rays after the game and luckily they came back negative, according to Mark Feinsand of the NY Daily News.

Even though the x-rays are negative doesn’t mean Cano is out of the woods. He will be reevaluated on Tuesday, but could miss a few days. Eduardo Nunez similarly was hit by a pitch and he sat on the bench for two weeks before he returned to action.

I expect Cano to be ready for Opening Day, but that is not a guarantee. After the Yankees evaluate him tomorrow we should know better, but it could be that we don’t find out for sure for at least a week. Stay tuned for updates.
