A couple of former Yankees find jobs

A couple of former Yankees got jobs yesterday as Hideki Matsui is expected to sign with the Rays and Bill Hall signed with the Orioles, according to Jack Curry and Ken Rosenthal.

The Rays have struggled to score runs and even though Luke Scott is having a solid season, he is awful against lefties so Matsui will likely platoon with him and maybe get an occasional game in the outfield (at least Yankees fans can hope).

Hall will start off in Triple-A with the Orioles which might be a sign that the guy should hang up his spikes. But because of his versatility it seems that there will always be a team around that would like him as an insurance policy.

It’s good to see a couple of former Yankees, even if Hall never technically played for the them, picking up work. Especially since they are both well past their prime.
