Even if Garcia is skipped he’s still in the rotation

When Yankees manager Joe Girardi was going over the upcoming rotation for the rest of the week, he left open the possibility that he might use CC Sabathia on his regular rest and skip Freddy Garcia this Saturday.

If he does decide to skip Garcia, that wouldn’t mean he is out of the rotation for good.

“Freddy’s going to start again,” Girardi told Marc Carig of the Star-Ledger.

If Garcia is skipped, that likely would only give him one, maybe two, starts before Andy Pettitte returns. That’s not a lot of time for Garcia to prove himself so it appears that he could be the man out of the rotation over Phil Hughes, who has also struggled for about two years now so far this season.
