Yankees bring Leyritz back into the fold

The Yankees have hired former World Series hero, Jim Leyritz, to a personal service contract and will work with the team in different capasitiies, according to Mark Feinsand of the NY Daily News.

Leyritz, who hit dramatic late inning homers in ’95 and ’96, has been out of baseball for a few years following manslaughter charges and a DUI conviction in Florida stemming from an incident in 2007.

Considering everything he’s gone though, it’s great to see him getting back on his feet and working again for a team that he is so passionate about.
