Triple-A Empire State: L 3-0 vs Rochester. L: Ortiz (0-3)

Chase Whitley: 2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, K (2.87 ERA) That’s his first bad outing in a while. Free pass.
Kevin Whelan: 1 IP, H, 0 ER, K (2.77 ERA) His ERA dipped below Whitley’s in the “who get’s the call up in the event of another bullpen injury” competition.

Double-A Trenton: L 7-5 to New Hampshire. L: Pope

Abe Almonte: 0/5 (.262) He’s so streaky. One for his last 13 after being 10 for his previous 29.
Dan Brewer: 1/5, K (.192) Not following up his success last season well.
Ronnier Mustelier: 3/4, 3 R, HR (5), RBI, BB (.353) Can someone please get the hint that he’s too good for this level and promote him? Here’s a guy who might be able to help the team now. That’s four homeruns in his last four games. – Update: Mustelier was promoted to Triple-A after the game today according to Josh Norris on twitter. Congrats!
Cody Johnson: 2/5, R, K (.294)
Melky Mesa: 2/5, 2 RBI, K, E (1) (.240)
Luke Murton: 1/5, R, HR (2), RBI, K (.273)

Brett Marshall: 7 IP, 11 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K (3.82 ERA) Not his best outing, but he fought through seven innings.

High-A Tampa: W 2-0 vs Bradenton. W: Ramirez (2-4) S: Montgomery (4)

Eddy Sosa: 0/4, K (.243)
JR Murph: 1/4, R, SB (1) (.250) I swear he puts up the same exact line every game. Get hot! The SB is a new trick though.
Ramon Flores: 0/3, BB, 2 K (.240)
Rob “Seggy” Segedin: 1/2, 2 RBI, BB, SB (5) (.306) Hard to believe he’s got five steals already.
Neil Medchill: 0/3 (.283)
Kelvin Castro: 1/3, SB (6) (.194)
Kyle Roller: 0/3 (.198)
Jose Mojica: 0/3, K (.273)
Jose “J-Ram” Ramirez: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K (5.06 ERA) This is the J-Ram I’ve been waiting to see.
Branden Pinder: 2 IP, H, 0 ER, BB, K (4.6 ERA)
Mark “Monte Python” Montgomery: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 K (2.02 ERA) That’s four saves, and 19 K in 13.1 innings. He’ll be in Trenton soon if he keeps this up.

Low-A Charleston: W 5-1 vs Lakewood. W: De La Cruz (1-0)

Mason Williams: 0/3, R, BB, SB (9) (.305) First game back and he’s already stealing bases. A hit would have been nice, but hey, he’s only human.
Angelo Gumbs: 1/4, RBI, SB (8) (.215)
Dante Bichette Jr: 0/4, K (.213) He’s way too good a htter to be four for his last 38 (.105). All four hits were singles. He’ll break out, just needs to make an adjustment I’m sure.
Tyler Austin: 1/4, R, K (.344) Player of the month by Goldstein.
Gary “The Sanchize” Sanchez: 1/3, R, BB, 2 K (.333) Was also caught stealing in this affair.
Ben Gamel: 1/3, R, 2B, 2 RBI, K (.247)
Casey Stevenson: 0/2, R, BB (.375)
Brett Gerritse: 4 IP, 4 H, ER, BB, 4 K (4.5 ERA) Pitched well enough in this spot start to win, just not long enough.
Joel De La Cruz: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, BB, 2 K (0.00 ERA) Don’t know much about him, except he’s 22, from the Dominican Republic, and doesn’t have the best statistical track record.
Phil Wetherell: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, BB, K (1.06 ERA) He’ll be in High-A before you know it.
