Brett Gardner goes 2-for-3 in MiLB rehab game 1

Brett Gardner returned to action and played in a minor league game for the first time on Tuesday since he injured his elbow making a diving catch on April 17. Gardner hit leadoff and played left field as he went 2-for-3.

The Empire State Yankees actually played a double header yesterday, but Gardner only played in the first game. So they are still taking it easy with him. He’s expected to play in at least one more rehab game on Wednesday before joining the Yankees this weekend.

Can’t wait for Gardner to comeback. With him back in the lineup the outfield defense will get so much better which can only help the pitching staff.
