D-Rob feels no pain after playing catch

As Brett Gardner‘s return gets closer so does David Robertson‘s. On Monday, Robertson played catch and afterward reported no pain, according to Chad Jennings of the Journal News.

There was some speculation before the weekend that he might be back in time to play the Tigers this weekend, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Instead, he’ll probably play catch one or two more time, have two or three bullpen sessions, and then two or three rehab appearances. All of that probably puts him closer to 7-10 days before he returns depending on how everything goes.

Rafael Soriano has taken over closer duties in D-Rob’s absence and could continue to handle that role even when he comes off the DL.
