Gardner to have another MRI before returning to action

It’s now been over a month since Brett Gardner last played for the Yankees and he’s close to returning, but before he does the Yankees will try to avoid another setback by having him get a MRI before clearing him to rehab.

“I think we’ve missed Gardy,” Girardi told Chad Jennings of the Journal News. “I think you can see the value of Gardy a little bit more now that we haven’t had him. Hopefully he is turning the corner with that elbow.”

Girardi isn’t kidding, the Yankees have struggled big time without Gardner. He doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, but he’s combination of a decent bat, amazing defense, and great speed is really missing. The Yankees really haven’t been the same since he’s gone on the shelf.
