Sabathia picking his game up

With the bad news the Yankees got an a three game losing streak against two of the weaker AL teams, they needed a big start from their ace as much as ever. CC Sabathia got that message and delivered as he tossed eight innings and allowed just two runs in the 1st inning in a 6-2 win over the Royals.

If you hadn’t noticed before the game, by the end it should have been apparent – CC is starting to heat up.

In his past four games he has averaged just under eight innings per start, has a 3.16 ERA, 8.04 K/9, 1.15 BB/9, and has held opposing batters to a .190 average and .587 OPS. Things started changing in Minnesota after he allowed three runs in the first three innings. He looked ticked on the mound and turned it around, holding the Twins scoreless over the final 4.1 innings. Since then he has been almost unhittable.

It’s good to have The Big Man back to pitching the way he is capable.
