The Yankee beat: bullpen management, Logan, and DeJesus

Memorial Day weekend is over and I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things. Last night’s Yankees game was a mess. Not only did Phil Hughes pitch like garbage, but Joe Girardi made it harder for the Yankees to win last night’s game with at least three very questionable moves. Here is the recap and WPA graph.

Here is what the Yankees blogosphere has been discussing.

  • It’s About the Money calls the death by the tiered bullpen one of the worst deaths of all. Hard to argue after Monday night’s game.
  • River Ave Blues says that Boone Logan has become the Yankees relief ace. I’ll take things Yankees fans would have never guessed in March for $2000, Alex.
  • The Captain’s Blog thinks that Cubs outfielder David DeJesus would be a perfect target for the Yankees at the trade deadline.
