The Yankee beat: Hamilton, Banuelos, and Reggie

The Yankees scored one run in the first and then the offense took the rest of the night off. David Phelps and the bullpen nearly pulled out the win anyway, but David Robertson had his worst outing in nearly two years as they lost 4-1 after heading into the 9th with a 1-0 lead. Here is the recap and graph.

Here is what the Yankees blogosphere was talking about today.

  • The Pinstriped Bible considers Josh Hamilton after his 4-home run night, but says he’s still a risk as a free agent.
  • The Yankees Analysts thinks that if Manny Banuelos can put his command issues behind him then he should be called up to the majors.
  • Bronx Banter reprinted the controversial article where Reggie Jackson called himself, “the straw that stirs the drink,” and said that Thurman Munson could, “only stir it bad,” in the pages of Sport.
