The Yankees injury problems are not limited to their Major League team as they put two minor leaguers on the DL Monday – Eduardo Nunez and top prospect Manny Banuelos.
Nunez’s injury is the same thumb injury that he experienced the other day. Seems like nothing serious, but he has been out for a few days and the minor league DL is only seven days so this gives the Triple-A team a little more flexibility until this weekend.
Banuelos could potentially have a much more serious injury as Mike Vander Woude reported that it is a left elbow injury that landed him on the shelf. Hopefully it is nothing, but worst case scenario on that is Tommy John Surgery which could have him out for a year. Hopefully that isn’t the case. Check back for updates on that.
