BBDP June 1st: Rainouts and shortened games

BBDP MVP: Vidal Nuno: 7 IP, 5 K, 0 ER

Triple-A Empire State: L: 4-3 to Norfolk. L: Delcarmen (1-3) This game was only seven innings due to rain.

Kevin Russo: 1/4, R (.289)
Corban “CoJo” Joseph: 1/3, R, HR (1), RBI, BB (.333) Didn’t even know he was promoted, now he’s hitting homeruns! Good to see he’s one step closer.
Ronnier “Musketeer” Mustelier: 2/3, R, RBI, K (.299) Guy knows his way around a bat.
Frankie Cervelli: 0/3, 2 K (.229)
Brandon Laird: 0/3, 2 K (.229)
Colin Curtis: 2/3 (.208)
Manny Delcarmen: 0.1 IP, 2 H, ER, BB, K (2.33 ERA) Maybe the “Get Delcarmen to the majors now!” crew will quiet down a bit after this one.

Double-A Trenton: Suspended. I’ll post the update when they finish. Vidal Nuno threw seven more scoreless innings with five strikeouts and Preston Claiborne threw one with none.

High-A Tampa: Postponed

Low-A Charleston: L 3-13 to Greenville. L: Mitchell (4-3) They were due for a good shalacking.

Angelo Gumbs: 0/4 (.262)
Cito Culver: 1/4, R, 2B, K (.228) One for four still brings his average up at this point.
Dante Bichette Jr: 0/3, BB, 2 K (.258)
Tyler Austin: 0/3, R, BB (.322)
Gary “The Sanchize” Sanchez: 2/3, R, RBI, BB (.301) Eight for his last 17 (.470 with three HR.
Reymond Nunez: 1/3, 2 RBI, BB (.269) He’s been hitting well recently too, and he’s still just 21. He’s 13 for his last 41 (.317) with a homer.
Kelvin De Leon: 0/3, K (.268)
Bryan Mitchell: 1 IP, 3 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, K (3.26) First explosion in a while, I’ll give him a break. I’ve come to the conclusion that Greenville is an excellent hitting team because the River Dogs have played them a lot recently and they always seem to score in double figures.
Fred Lewis: 2 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 5 K (3.38)
Mariel Checo: 1 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, BB, 2 K (4.5 ERA)
Pedro Guerra: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, BB, K, HR (1.98 ERA) Even Guerra couldn’t shut them down and he has been a shutdown reliever this year.
John Brebbia: 1.2 IP, 3 H, ER, 3 K , HR (5.63 ERA) Not a single pitcher managed to stop them. Just one of those days.
