Gardner could return to Yankees by Monday

Brett Gardner leadoff and played left field for the Charleston RiverDogs on Friday night. He went 1-for-3 and seems poised to return by the Atlanta series without any setbacks.

“Gardy could be quicker (than Robertson) if everything goes OK, but we have to see how he feels after each start,” Girardi told Josh Thomson of the Journal News.

Gardner has been out for about two full months now. The Yankees initially downplayed the injury a bit before placing him on the DL. Then he suffered a setback after being shutdown for 10 days. So another setback isn’t exactly out of the question. Let’s hope he is fine and plays Monday.

I hope Gardner is back by at least Tuesday. I am seeing my first Yankee game in Atlanta and Brett is my favorite!

Isn't happening. Another setback and now it's anyone's guess when Gardner returns. Back to the doctor on Monday.
