The Yankee Beat: Too many homers? and Youkilis

The Yankees put their brief three game losing streak behind them and have now won four in a row, 14 of their last 17, and 24 of their last 31. That’s good baseball. Here is the recap and graph of their latest victory and don’t miss video of Dewayne Wise‘s great non-catch.

Here’s what the Yankees blogosphere is talking about.

It’s About The Money, Stupid wrote a great piece debunking the myth that by hitting too many homers the Yankees are putting themselves at a disadvantage come October.

• The Yankee Analysts actually goes through the numbers and points out that the Yankees hit only slightly fewer home runs in the playoffs on average – 31.2 AB/HR in the regular season, 26.4 in the playoffs over the last 16 years.

• The Captain’s Blog notes that Kevin Youkilis is just the latest Red Sox star to leave Beantown before his career is over and compares past players performances before and after leaving.
