With their 19th round pick in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player draft, the Yankees selected Dietrich Enns, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound left handed pitcher out of Central Michigan University.
A 21-year-old college junior, Enns is primarily a reliever who posted a 2.34 ERA with 43 strikeouts and 23 walks in 57.2 innings. He’s a guy who has also done well for himself in the Cape Cod league, putting up a 0.65 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 27.2 innings there.
His scouting report says his fastball tops out at 92 mph with a curveball and a changeup to go with it. It also says that he changes speeds well.
